Why We Need Funding:

Our mission focuses on promoting artists, art communities, and art businesses to attract resources and allow these elements to thrive. Northwest Art Alliance (NWAA) connects artists to the general community through the operation of shows, newsletter, and a creative webpage.

The critical links provided by NWAA have been impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. The organization initially shifted to virtual shows but has now been able to carefully return to a reduced number of smaller live events. NWAA strives to help artists connect with customers, increase art community visibility, and support art-related businesses survival.

We are proud report that NWAA has been resourceful, flexible, thrifty, creative, and actively moving forward throughout the pandemic. Being resilient and innovative has allowed us to move in some new directions.  A past pattern of responsible financial management has kept NWAA alive during these difficult times, but the future remains uncertain and challenging. Your donations can offer a bit of much needed stability and be part of new vision for the future.

These are five examples of where funds will help NWAA to meet the changing needs within the arts community.

1.       “Cultural Connections” has focused on African American artists and begun to expand to include Northwest Indigenous art. We envision a series of events that celebrate a culture and increase awareness of the important contribution offered within our community.

2.       The Spectrum Newsletter will need new leadership with the retirement of the editor. Delores Peck has been an amazing volunteer and some of her tasks can be filled with other volunteers, but we expect to need to pay for some talent to maintain the high quality of this publication that reaches thousands in the community.

3.       Marketing and raising public awareness of new ways to connect with artists in the community. We need to keep pace with changes in technology and ways to communicate.

4.       Partial funding is needed for the Event Director, who is the link between all of the NWAA activities and elements, connecting with artists, volunteers, and contractors. This position also guides new programs, develops content for grant funding and helps keep the organization functioning.

5.       Developing solutions for Artist Education is on the work plan for NWAA. As we listened to artists, the availability of virtual training or educational videos is a priority. Funds are needed to implement content and access ideas.

Donations to NWAA can make a dramatic difference to the art community! As a non-profit organization many donations to NWAA offer a tax benefit to the donor which can best be determined by a financial professional.

Rather than dollars, volunteer time is another way to contribute.  Consider volunteering at a live show, membership in the Board of Directors, or being part of a team to implement the exciting creative vision for the organization!
