Celeste Wong - Celeste Watch Company

I handcraft artistic watch dials of animals, sea creatures, flowers and more by inlaying either mother-of-pearl, abalone shell, metal and/or wood on the dial. The designs are composed of pieces (some have over 20) that are each tinted, cut, sanded and cleaned before being placed on the dial. The delicate shell or wafer thin wood, sanded to a thickness of only .25mm, lays over a brass piece which also holds the movement. I designed hypoallergenic 316L stainless steel cases to conform internally to this thick non-standard dial and included a sapphire crystal to help withstand scratches. The crystal also provides a vibrancy in color and clearer-than-glass appearance. I buy the movements in Switzerland and build each watch by hand in my Springfield, Oregon studio.
