Darah Lundberg

Darah Lundberg Ceramics

I create unique, mostly functional ceramics out of porcelain and stoneware. I strive to create cohesive conversations between form and surface. My aesthetic is to marry calm surfaces with strong forms. I refine each piece to appear delicate, while being weighty enough to feel solid and strong. I use inlaying to create a tactile backdrop using lines to indicate tracks, roads, bridges and paths. I use circles to represent the earth, sun, wholeness and infinity. I then electric or wood fire them. I use wood fire to create an added depth on the surface that is produced by the unpredictable ash and environment in the kiln. In the electric kilns I use a exterior matte glaze to pop the inlayed copper and create a dreamy textured surface.
