Jay and Janet O’Rourke - Fragments of Fairytales

We are a husband & wife team collaborating for 50 years. Our work is green and eco friendly. We salvage logs from fallen trees after storms & let the wood cure for about a year we turn & carve each piece create 1 of a kind vessels sculpture & jewelry made out of wood we carve each piece by hand, use dyes to get a water color effect where you can see the wood grain, pyrography, Prismacolor pencils, Swarovski Rhinestones, acrylic gold paint, fine gem stones and pearls, and sterling silver. There are at least 20 layers of lacquer sanded between each coat. This is a technique we have created for our work that is distinctly our original media and distinctive look. All our pieces are one of a kind. Our inspiration is from magic & nature.
