Lacey Carnahan

Lacey Carnahan - Carnahan Woodworks

I work with locally sourced and sustainably harvested North American hardwoods. Everything I make is made by hand in my home shop in Chimacum, WA. I use a combination of hand and power tools to create my furniture and sculptural work. For my stools and chairs I use traditional windsor style tools and joinery including reamers, and tapered tenon-cutters, handplanes, spokeshaves, and travishers. For the bent elements of my chairs I steam bend them to a form. I also use a lathe to turn the legs and stretchers. My sculptural mirrors are built using a technique called bricklay lamination. With patterns and laminations I mill I build up the shape in layers to produce a very strong shape. My goal is for everything I make to be heirloom quality.
