My goal as a photographer is constant growth in my art. Sometimes that means working on techniques such as birds in flight. But it is not enough to just capture a technically correct photograph; it is about telling a story and evoking emotion in the viewer. Growth also takes the form of trying out new media. One of the difficulties with photography is that we see in 3-D but print in 2-D. I have had a quest to make my images look as 3-D as possible without using special glasses. This quest has led me to print on different textured papers, use double and triple mats, print on canvas and finally to print on aluminum. The aluminum really does it for most of my images. More ethereal pictures require canvas or a satin metal finish. This past year, I have explored this by creating more abstract work.
