Toy figures, often LEGOs, are photographed in enchanting, blurred worlds created with props, lighting techniques and special lenses. Parts of images are then manually layered and enhanced with an encaustic process layers of beeswax, pigments and surface carving adds depth and luminosity. My work is inspired by childhood, and the joy of play. I love to combine toys with my own personal memories which often creates unexpected connections with my audience. My photo stories are also inspired by fantasy, mythology and the pop culture that infuses our day to day experience.
