Rough hardwood is milled to precise dimensions, then cut into components and laminated into panels, with each species chosen for contrast in color and grain. These panels are crosscut, rotated, and reassembled through successive glue-ups, where shifting the orientation of the end grain allows intricate geometric and three-dimensional patterns to emerge. Working in small batches keeps each layout consistent while still embracing the natural variation of the wood. Once assembled, each blank is flattened, brought to final thickness, and carefully sanded to a smooth, uniform surface. Edges are shaped with both function and design in mind, and the finished boards are saturated with food-safe mineral oil, then hand-buffed with a beeswax blend for lasting durability and depth.
