Amanda Porter - Unaccustomed Beauty Contemporary Art
I hand develop original cyanotype prints on fabric and paper. I use both camera photographs and camera less photography techniques using various objects and their shadows. I often combine techniques as well and sometimes incorporate some sketching or drawing. I create my own negatives from my own digital photos. I also use double exposures to get more layered, complex works. I expose all of my images outside with the sun. Each one is unique and I rarely do repeats and if so the editions are 10 or less. The majority of my work is in the classic blue and white but I also sometimes use colored paper or fabric for the cyanotypes which adds a new color dimension to the work. Most of my work is currently sized at 11x14 to 5x7 including the mat board.
