I use two different mediums for creating art. The first, silk batik, I have been doing for over 35 years. Batik has become my voice. When dye touches silk fabric it spreads like crazy. The wax creates a boundary. It is this dance of control/no control that captivates me for hours. Through this ethereal quality, I try to convey the essence of a place and of the creatures who dwell there. The second medium, which I have been working in for over 13 years is palette knife and oils. It is quite different from the batik work in technique, materials and application. I work on stretched canvases using high quality oil paints. I will have originals of both mediums for sale. As well as Giclee prints and greeting cards.
