Each piece begins hot, where water is applied to the surface to intentionally shock and crack the glass, creating a craquel texture of crisp, organic lines. The glass is then reheated and shaped, allowing the fractured surface to remain while the form is refined. I frequently employ complex construction methods such as incalmo, fusing separately blown sections to create layered compositions. In multi-part works, including triple incalmo vessels, clear and colored components are combined, sometimes switched off axis to introduce movement and tension.
