Jorge Cainas Art

I use a concrete, clay, plaster, and resin mixture to bind the crystals, fossils, meteorites, glass, metals, antiques, common objects, ceramics, and beadwork. I hand-paint the concrete. I use lapidary techniques to polish stones. I create hand-built and wheel-thrown ceramics. I also use oven-bake polymer clay and air-dry clay. I fuse glass in a microwave kiln. I use jewelry fabrication techniques for various components. I use wire-wrapping and basket-weaving techniques for the wire and tubing, all done by hand. I also do some wood carving for some of the beads. Generally, I try to use a wide variety of materials and techniques in my work.
