Peggy Foy - Arcana Metalwork

Using sterling silver, gold, and other precious and semi-precious materials, I create jewelry that is meant to inspire both a sense of the etherial and of timelessness. I am a classically trained metalsmith; I received a BFA in Jewelry and Metalwork from the University of Georgia, and I have nearly 20 years experience at the jeweler's bench. I specialize in traditional filigree, a technique that lends itself to graceful swirling silver lines that evoke an Art Nouveau sensibility. While I sometimes work from a drawing, more often I start with a rough sketch of the movement I want to capture, and then let the natural flow of the wire direct the shape of the piece. Like an illustrator working with pen and ink, I find it is crucial to ""love every line"" - from every angle, before it feels finished. All of my metals are 100% recycled content, and I offer eco-friendly gemstone options. I am always moving towards greener practices in my studio. Based in Pioneer Square, Seattle, WA.
