Reuben Gershin - Tinja’s Workshop

End-grain cutting boards are crafted from rough hardwood lumber that is milled flat and square, then cut and laminated into panels using contrasting wood species. These panels are crosscut, rotated, and reassembled through multiple glue-ups to create complex geometric and 3D patterns utilizing the natural color and grain. Boards are produced in small batches, allowing for consistency in design while preserving variation inherent in the material. Each board is flattened, machined, and progressively sanded smooth on all faces, refined with functional and decorative edge profiles, then saturated with food-safe mineral oil and finished with a hand-buffed beeswax and oil blend to enhance durability and natural beauty.
