I am a nature photographer specializing in birds, flowers, landscape, and abstract photography. I have watched birds and taken photographs since I was a child. Inspiration started early in childhood from reading Gerald Durrell's animal travelogues and Ernest Shackleton's journal about the Endurance. Nothing is more exciting than getting up before dawn to capture the morning light on birds and flowers or staying up past midnight to capture the Milky Way in all its glory. I want my images to convey the soul of nature. I want you to feel that you are making a relationship with the bird, animal, flower, or landscape when you view my photograph. My photographs have progressed over time to be more about relationships than a static view of the subject. I print on aluminum and canvas. I love how the metal makes the colors. I also print coasters on ceramic tile and cards on photographic paper. I believe that is important to have lower cost items so that everyone can enjoy art in their home.
