I begin with a random kaleidoscope of colors and texture using acrylic mediums on canvas or board. Next, I sketch in the concept with a paintbrush. Then I build more layers of color and texture with glazes, splatters, scratches and drips throughout the picture. It is a spontaneous way of painting; often controlled and calculated but also allowing the paint to do what it wants. I make calculated choices of what to keep and cover up until achieving the final effect.
