Fyreocity - Sarah Staub

My glass art focuses on beach and ocean themes with strong ties to the Pacific Northwest, made in my home studio in Tacoma. I have been an artist my entire life and found my passion for the ocean best depicted through the glass medium. All of my designs (outside of casting molds) are my original creations.

Fused Glass - I use both 90 and 96 COE fusible glass in a variety of colors to create my art. I use hand-cut sheet glass from my own patterns or use crushed glass (frit) in manufactured casting molds to create my subject matter. Glass is fired in my kiln 1-3 times to reach the desired effect, then assembled/built as needed.

Stained Glass - I use hand-drawn patterns of my subject matter which are traced onto colored sheet glass, hand-cut, ground to precision, and soldered using the copper foil method and framed in either lead or zinc came. Metal components are treated with a finishing compound to prevent oxidation.
