John Creighton Petersen - ARTNewWave
Mixed media fusion is the juxtaposition of conflicting styles and materials, a melding of opposites together through layers and assemblage featuring found objects, acrylics, encaustic, resin and more. My artwork and jewelry has always been a juxtaposition of sometimes conflicting styles, often times mixing together two things that necessarily don’t always belong together the old with the new, vintage and industrial, rough edges with soft touches. This exploration of melding opposites together into a cohesive piece of artwork is a fascinating study. The majority of my artwork and jewelry is an exploration of creating textures and layers with color, from larger sized canvases to smaller wearable works of art.
