Kathy Manzella Ceramics

My process begins with designing the form, elements, and color of each piece of pottery. Then, I wheel throw each pot and hand build the sprigs that will be added to the pot during its drying stage. Once dry, the pots are bisque fired, wiped clean of dust and ready to glaze. Blues, greens and combinations of glazes are used to enhance the warmth and cheerfulness of the designs. At this point, the pots are ready to be high fired into stoneware and the process is complete. All work is done in my home studio.
