Sarah Meranda - Magpie Mouse Studios

My name is Sarah Meranda and I am an artist from Seattle. I love being surrounded by water and mountains as well as city-scapes and am always inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. I get most of my inspiration from long walks where I take pictures of plants, leaves, moss etc and try to recreate them in my studio out of metal.

In 2008 I was lucky enough to find Pratt Fine Arts Center here in Seattle and journey into metals and 3d art began. I have since graduated from the certificate program at North Seattle College for jewelry/metals. I still further my education by taking classes and workshops whenever possible

I was awarded a work study scholarship in Penland the summer of 2014. I studied enamel under artist and instructor Mi Sook-hur and the experience changed my life. My most current work is with enamel on copper and fine silver.
