My paintings are realistic interpretations of animals of the Northwest and this beautiful world we live in. I want my work to engage thought, connections to nature, emotion, and to persuade the viewer to think about what they are seeing. I sometimes will add hidden elements to seek out. I love this engagement. Using acrylics to paint with vibrant color and detail, I often blend elements of nature. I use many different acrylic mediums to achieve depth and texture in specific areas so that the subject appears to transcend the confines of the canvas. I paint landscapes with colors from my heart. As I am painting an animal, I imagine what it’s feeling, its soul. Then he comes alive and it’s like we are working together to finish the piece.
