I primarily use watercolor with the addition of pen and ink. I layer watercolor and blend colors before adding details using a variety of pens and gold ink. Central to my creative process is the selection of high-quality watercolor paper and professional-grade watercolor paints. I use heavyweight cold-pressed and absorbent rough handmade watercolor paper, which allows me to apply many layers of paint. Choosing a color palette and mixing colors is my favorite step in the creative process. My work is both a blend of precision and spontaneity. My brushwork ranges from delicate washes to bold, expressive strokes, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. I employ multiple layers to create depth and allow colors to interact. I embrace the unpredictable nature of watercolor using the wet-on-wet technique followed by incorporating intricate linework and gold ink to enhance my artwork. This step allows me to create additional texture, movement, depth, and detail.
