Angela Ehrig - Engayla
The beautiful fibers, leathers and artifacts I collect from all over the world inspire my artful creations and want to be transformed into something meaningful. Using flat pattern methods or draping techniques on dress forms, I create original patterns driven by nature, shifting moods, customer needs, feedback, or personal artistic desires. I transform materials through hand-dyeing, discharge techniques, silk screening, stamping, hand-painting, appliqué work, or complete deconstruction and creative redesign. My leather work features contemporary embossed cowhides carefully crafted into purses, totes, and wrist bags with reversible matching cowhide belts finished with silver stainless steel or gold rivets. My ultimate goal is creating a unique contemporary aesthetic where garments and leather accessories complement each other seamlessly, achieving perfect harmony between textile artistry and leather craftsmanship in every single piece I create for modern living and style.
