I choose to use historical patterned dies to cut brass instead of casting the metal that I enamel on for it's greater durability. I then raise the copper (similar to depletion gilding), clean, pierce, & torch/kiln enamel before working it into my designs. I use hot & cold joining techniques & some flameworking.
