House of Linnaea

House of Linnaea - Megan Kirkpatrick

I create wearable sculptures from natural specimens and copper. I specialize in the preservation of botanical materials as well as insects that have naturally passed, honoring them through this unique preservation technique.
Through the process of electroplating, I dissolve copper in an acid bath and use electricity to grow the metal onto organic forms, preserving their structure as wearable or displayable art. All specimens are hand gathered by me and each piece is meticulously handcrafted by me in my shop in Washington State.
