Grace Leigh Art - Grace Ryser

My work is created using acrylic paint and paint markers, paint applied primarily with large square brushes. Throughout the process, I use paint markers to map forms and layer in delicate line-work, adding structure, movement, and subtle detail. Each piece begins with a bright, solid-color underpainting that establishes energy and mood. As I build layers of paint, I intentionally allow parts of this initial color to remain visible, creating depth, contrast, and vibrancy beneath the surface. The combination of bold underlayers, graphic mark-making, and refined lines reflects both the expansiveness of the Western landscape and my personal relationship to it.
